Inter Milan at EMPOLI
Next round of the useless Italian Cup with the following variables to ponder and consider. As I mentioned some time ago, Inter will undoubtably go on to win the "Scudetto" by a probable margin of 4 points over 2nd place team Roma, who should put up a decent fight till the end.
I don't expect Inter to be up for this match, as they will probably be looking ahead to Saturday's match at Torino (the only variable of importance in that match is the mere Serie A record that could be set by Inter - should they win - making it 11 straight in a Serie A campaign). Stankovic and
Crespo will be absent for this match, putting a premium on Figo and supporting cast of subs to last the 90 minutes. Empoli, who finished the first leg of the season with a pathetic - and uncharacteristc - 4-1 loss at Reggina, will have numerous players missing for this match (many still recuperating from a strange form of stomach virus). Coach Cagni has already said that he will be fielding what he deems a "second grade" line-up. The only hope for this squad, in an attempt to keep the score respectable, will be to play a sound 4-4-2, and hope for a mental lapse from the Inter midfield (the likelyhood for that is quite small). From these variables, I see nothing but a dull and low scoring match, with the only finishing provided by Inter Milan.
MA says: Junk of a game, much better value in one key match-up tomorrow. For those venturing on this one, careful, playing Inter at -1 goal is not as automatic as it seems. I will consider the total instead.

The play: Inter Milan UNDER 2 and 2.5 +104 (4 units)

Cheers and good luck to all for the new year.

MA

Inter Milan 2 EMPOLI 0 (1W-0L-1T +2.08 units)
Cordoba scoring at the 90th minute to dent the under. Yet again I am left shaking my head as the play is decided at the last minute or in injury time.

Sup MA. Glad to see ya back.

Cheers, and may some serious good Mojo bless us in 2007. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. Come to think of it, I would not mind being lucky all the time.
